Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• When you order: your name, email, phone number, shipping address and order details.
• Payment details: handled by Shopify Payments and any other provider you choose at checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
• When you contact us: whatever you put in the email, and your email address.
• When you browse: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, device and browser, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we collect it

• To take payment, ship your order and provide support.
• To send order and shipping notifications.
• To send marketing emails, if you opted in. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
• To measure and improve our advertising, including on Meta platforms.
• To detect fraud and meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers who make the store work:

• Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts the store and processes orders.
• Payment providers — to take payment.
• Australia Post — to deliver your order.
• Meta Platforms — advertising measurement. Where we send purchase or contact data through Meta's Conversions API it is hashed before it leaves us, so Meta receives an irreversible code rather than your email address.
• Shopify Email — to send order and marketing emails.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, to understand how the site is used, and to measure advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the cart and checkout may stop working properly if you do.

Marketing

We only email marketing to people who opted in. You can unsubscribe from any email, and we'll action it immediately.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and consumer law obligations. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email boabbottle@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your information, email us first and we'll try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of the page.
